Mini Stations (Temples)

The newest addition to the Stations series is an elaboration on my experience with architecture being both redundant and new. Death (redundancy) occurs with passive observation of the same space over time. Rebirth (new perception) is a conscious decision to enter and exit the same space with the understanding it cannot be the same twice.

De Amerikaanse Kristen Martinic is bijzonder geïntrigeerd door de verbinding tussen het lichaam en water, wat zich helder weerspiegelt in haar meest recente geniale prenten, maar ook sculpturen en installatie werk. Voor deze prachtige serie; ‘Pool & Water' maakte Martinic gebruik van verschillende technieken zoals print, teken- en schilderkunst waarmee ze ook de zijkanten van de panelen meeneemt, waardoor ze een hoge mate van ruimtelijkheid weet te bereiken en een fascinerende tactiliteit in het werk legt. Fotografie van de werken door Jeffrey M. Bruce.
